JUST USED DBAN TO REFORMAT DISK BECAUSE IT WAS CRASHING ALL THE TIME, I HAVE A WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE OS WHICH I DOWNLOADED AND BURNED AS A ISO BUT WHEN I GO TO INSTALL IT NOW I GET THIS MSG CANNOT boot from cd error code 5

If you put the CD into another system that's already running windows, does it have a single big file on it with an ".ISO" file type? If so, you've burned the CD the wrong way. Rather than just copying the file to a blank CD, you need to use the ".ISO" file to burn an image to the CD.

The answer is quite simple. Beg steal or borrow a windows xp pro disk. install that first. when the machine is booted up and running fine insert the windows7 disk. Choose custom install and way to go. it worked for me and it worked on every p.c that I have come across that was showing code 5.

It May be the problems of the Boot disk In case of Error 5 you should have to reinstall windows 7 or it can be problems of factory setting, This would be clear after watching the computer
