this will be my first diy pc and i was looking for some help. i cant spend much more than $1000 and will be using it for the following.
(ordered by most frequent)
-Sonar 6(audio recording/editing,eventually wanting to crossover to win/x64)(recording at 192khz/24bit via outboard firewire soundcard/mixer ex.mackie onyx1620)with a high track count i want to be able to run at the lowest latency known to man and support for heavy automation/effects and virtual instruments.
-Macromedia8/Adobe CS2-for building websites, editing photos yada yada yada.
-Premeire Pro-not for making blockbusters, just for web video edits maybe promotional vids.(hd productions not probable)
so, im not a gamer, just need a pc for the functions above,i would like to run dual monitors, the case can be big/ugly, my biggest concers are system speed,hd space and noise. the quieter the better. im trying to spend as little as possible but want a reliable system that can support the functions above and have some flexiblity for future modifications.(ex. more ram).
im ready to buy and looking for corners to cut.
dont worry about peripherals i only need suggestions on the following
motherboard
cpu
memory
power supply
hd
cooling
graphics card
bottom:fast pc that can handle the load of audio produciton.
if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.looking forward to hearing from anyone. jeremy
Ok heres the deal, you just need a ton of CPU power, and a high powered sound card. Get a fully featured Asus mobo, and a Core 2 DUO e6600 or faster, 2Gb of DDR2, a Creative labs X-Fi, there is a bunch of different models of it and one to surely meet your needs, and you are all set, just get a midrange mainstream graphics card something in the x600 range, something that isnt cheap but that isnt expensive either. It isnt a complicated build, its just what you need.
