MSI 975X Platinum+Core 2 OC guide: Will they work together?

The title is about it. The MSI gets decent reviews and is much less expensive than the ASUS P5W and has two PATA slots, which I need. I noticed wusy did not mention the board in his recommended list in the guide.

I realize this should go in the mobo section, but wusy mentioned any questions regarding his guide should go here. I'd prefer wusy respond, as it is his guide, but other input is of course welcome.

It doesnt allow changes in the vFSB and vICH. The vCORE doesnt go to high and neither does the FSB. I have no idea why it won that award at tomshardware, seems like the site has no clue on OCing anymore...
Grab a P965 if you want a great OCing mobo.

Thanks dario and wusy. I'll guess I'll get the ASUS instead. Admittedly the price difference between the two is much less than that between the E6600 and E6700.

Reach 400Mhz FSB on the P5W DH unmodded and youll be lucky.
