I have a Gainward 7950GX2 installed with the latest drivers however when I check the memory of my graphics card in display properties it says there is only 512Mb.

Is this a problem or is the system just confused due to 2 cards being in one slot

That is correct. The packaging/marketing on the GX2 is more or less a lie. It doesn't have 1Gb of memory, it has two seperate cards with 512Mb each. It's just like having two 7900GTXs in SLI.

I was having the same concern... man I was going nuts, about to flash to some weird bios version and use beta nvidia drivers.... whew. Thanks, its weird I didn't see any mention of this on evga's site, or anywhere else I looked.
