Corsair XMX ram speed, not sure if i should change

From what I've seen there's a EPP version which is the 4 cas and the regular version which has the 5 cas. But if you have the EPP version with 4 cas then you should go to the bios and change that to 4. Maybe it's your motherboard that sets the timing that way.

Some motherboards do that and widens the timing from the stock setting of the rams. Why, I don't know. My mobo on the other hand tightens the timing on my Corsair even more than the stock spec.

Go to your bios and confirm the timings for sure and run CPU-Z also.

All Corsairs have EPP now. I think his MB has just used the conservative settings from the normal SPD. Check the Corsair web site to find out what voltage the DDR2-800/4-4-4-12 timing is spec'd at, set your DIMM voltage to that, then go ahead and set the 4-4-4-12 timings. Don't forget to run memtest86+ and PRIME95 (one per core) to shake down your system and make sure the RAM works at the new settings w/o errors.
