IM BUILDING A COMPUTER AND DONT NO WUT TPE OF RAM TO USE??

ive decided using the e6600 conroe as my cpu and the asus P5W DH as my mobo and im going for a 200gb hard wd caviar. with the 7600gt XFX gfx card. but the problem is wut type of ram i should use. i obviously figured its ddr2. ive looked at corsairs range of ram and i think value select is the way to go. i would get twinx but i dont got the money. plz help me. im noob when it comes to ram. lol

Just gon o newegg.com and find your motherboard and CPU combo to see what RAM will go with them. If you will be using XP, get 1 or 2GB. If you will move to Vista someday, get 2 or 3GB. Depends on what you're using the PC for. RAM is a bit expensive just now so if you don't need it immediately.....

I'll just toss in my 2 cents' worth of brand jihad and point out that Corsair's ValueSelect line is very poor quality, no better than generic. If you want "value" RAM, go with Kingston's ValueRAM line or one of the other value lines. Even though Corsair's main lines are great, their ValueSelect is junk.

are you planning to oc?
if no than get ddr2 533
if yes then ddr2 800 (preferably corsair)
