P5W DH Deluxe and DDR2 667 RAM

I have OCZ DDR2 667 RAM installed on my Asus P5W DH Deluxe. My question is: Why is my RAM being De-Clocked to DDR2 533?

I read somewhere that because my FSB is 1066, the RAM is de-clocked to 266MHz so that it can synchronize with the FSB.. Think you call it a 1:4 ratio? (Im a noooooob) 8O

Its not a big issue really, im just trying to fin out if this is normal..

I think the bio default to DDR2 533. You need to need to set it manually at DDR2 667.

So will DDR2 667 perform better than DDR2 533 on my system? Isnt a 1:1 ratio the best way to go?

Depends, but with a C2D system, the memory can't run fast enough to feed the processor, so the faster the memory, the better you will do, remember with 2 or 4MB of cache on the C2D chips your memory will need to keep up.
