Mustek TWAIN crashes when 2nd gray scan in XP?

Archived from groups: alt.comp.periphs.scanner (More info?)

Mustek 1200ED
Parallell
1. Start MS Photo Editor
2. Pressing Scan icon
3. Mustek TWAIN Window is revealed (Aboutwindow: DataSource 1.2 Driver v2.5
F/W: None Interface: EPP/LPT1)
4. Scan mode gray 100dpi (image size 991KB)
5. Pressing Scan button in the window
6. Scanning... and 0% yellow bar appears and the scanner makes scanning
sounds (very normal procedure)
6. MS Photo editor closes after 15-30 seconds, TWAIN window remains on
screen

Problem does not happen if I choose lineart or color instead of gray.
Regarding power, I was just referring to a post suggesting that the PC did
not have enough power. Can't see horsepower as a problem as I can scan huge
color resolution scans without any problems, 100dpi gray scale does not
require that much power.

Details?
Model No. of scanner.
How is the scanner connected to computer, USB, SCSI or Parallel?
Describe the problem in more detail.
Maybe the steps you take and what the error message is. How does the TWAIN
crash?

What do you mean by "more power"?

Try remove both Mustek and MS Photo Editor then re-install MS Photo Editor
then Mustek TWAIN. Reboot computer each time.

Your error message indicates that the EXE and DLL for MS Photo Editor is
corrupted.

Anytime there is a software problem, the first thing to do, is remove then
re-install the affected software..
