Here's the parts I currently have:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
2 Geforce 7900GT Graphics Cards
4GB Memory 800Mhz
150GB Western Digital Raptor 10000Mhz
Antec P180 case
Antec 550W Power supply

Now I need a motherboard but I'm still debating. I've been leaning towards the P5N32-SLI Premium because it also allows me to buy even more memory if I want to later, and it also offers the extra x16 slot for a physics card should I also buy later. However this board has had some bad reviews because of its physical layout, people complaining about the placement of slots, some of which aren't even useable with two graphics cards installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want SLI, you should wait a little longer since the new nForce chip for Conroe will come out. It will also support 3 PCI-E slots so you can do an SLI + Physics solution.

However, if you still insist on SLI, go this route instead:

The mobo is superior than the current nForce solutions and will allow you to OC your cpu without a problem while still providing the benefits of SLI.

NONE, youll wait for C55XE (680i).

The nForce 590 is out and in my case (love it :D ). It does have 3 PCI-e slots (for a physics card?)

What sold me was the dual 16x pipes that you get (P5N32-SLI). Instead of taking the 16x and spliting it to 2 8x pipes you get 2 true 16x performance.

I'm not sure what the 3rd PCI-e slot is for. If it is for a physics card then I think, in the furue, it could be useless. With dual and quad cores the physics would probably be on the CPU.

Anyway, I recommend an ASUS with two 16x graphics pipes.

Graphics cards cant even fill 8x lanes... x16 lanes each is pure marketing bull.

thats exactly what I say... which is another reason why PCI-E2.0 is useless to most people... anyways...

I agree, waiting is your best bet, but based on current situations, my recommendation still stands.

I hope cards will somewhat be optimized for it. I despise the real-world scams...

that is cool but look at agpx4 and x8.

lol, yeah, the only revision that PCI-E2.0 has that's interesting is being able to run components through a cable (I see no point for consumers, but a lot of potential for buisnesses, then again I'm no seer) and the ability to send 150W through the mobo, thus maybe alleviating the PCI-E power connectors... maybe... shrug
