Hello,
I was wondering if I can use the win2000 upgrade for a new PC? I have win 98 just not installed on the new PC. Does win 98 need to be installed before upgraded to Win2000? thanks for the help. Trying to see if i need to buy the full version of win2000.

When I installed WinME upgrade I only had to put the Win98 full version CD in the drive to be recognized. No problem. I would expect W2K to work the same way as long as you have a full version of Win98.

yeah, as speedy says, you will only have to verify ownership of a valid copy of win 98 when installing win 2k upgrade. the upgrade disk is no different than the full version other than it requires proof of purchase of a previous microsoft OS. you should be fine....

ignore everything i say
