I have to make the comment that the best bang for the buck is currently with Intel and ATI. It's your money but I have to get it off my chest. There.

I'd get the 4200 version of the AM2 X2 CPU. If you plan on overclocking, this chip is a much better overclocker than the 3800. And the price difference is not that much.

I wouldn't bother getting 2x512MB sticks of memory. You are going to need 2 GB's soon. You'd be better off buying 1 1GB stick than getting another one in the future. You might lose dual-channel for the moment but having 2x1GB sticks is better than 4x512MB sticks.

Seagate makes a 320GB 16MB cache version for 15-20 bucks more (at least in the states). I'd get this one instead.

Sorry about posting this MSI Turbostream 600W PSU from Newegg. I use it as reference for you to see if you can find it in Canada. It supplies 22A on the dual rails and it's much cheaper than the ones you suggested. If you can find it, this is the one I suggest.

Ok Ive made some changes. I went back to my original 2GB build. I cut the GPU way down to compensate for the price going up, but it works out good because I plan to upgrade to a DX10 card when they are released. So here are the changes. Im sorry but Im going to stubbornly stick to AMD and Nvidia lol.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 2.2GHz AM2 (will overclock in the future)
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe ATX AM2 Nforce 570 SLI
Corsair XMS2 2GB 2X1GB PC6400 DDR2-800 CL 4-4-4-12 240PIN
EVGA E-GEFORCE 7600 GS 400MHZ PCI-E 256MB 800MHZ DDR2 (will be upgrading to DX10)
NZXT LEXA ATX Aluminum Case Black 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5INT
OCZ GameXStream 600W ATX12V 24PIN
LG GSA-H22N DVD+RW 18X8X16 DVD-RW 18X6X16 Dual Layer 8X
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA2 3GB/S 7200RPM 16MB Cache NCQ

Please critique. Thanks.

What would you suggest? (maybe this? Or maybe even this?)

Please give me a link to the part on ncix.com.

I would go for the 700 wt, mainly with the future in mind where you may need the extra wattage and if you move to the DX10 cards, they seem to be power hogs.

Yeah, X2 3800+. How is the 4200+ a "much better overclocker". Only slightly due to a higher stock clock and higher multiplier. Mixed reviews on that motherboards OC'ing...

Looks good. The only thing I might upgrade t this point would be taking the motherboard to a 590 instead of the 570, and if you have enough dollars, to get the Crosshair. All depends on how much overclocking you intend. I like the 4200+ over the 3800+ myself, but that's a personal opinion.

K will do. The ocing isnt a big factor for me. Gaming, photoshop, mass music collecting are my comp needs.

Thanks again guys.

That Cross-Hair is overpriced, IMO. The DFI 590 is a better option...

If you aren't doing any OC'ing, how about an ePOX 570 SLi? There are some other options...Or any 570 Ultra/SLi board, just check the reviews.

The only DFI 590 I could find on NCIX was $250 cnd and MoBo's are one of the only things I know nothing about so unless you can convince me...

The DFI 590, let's see. Digital PWM, Dual PCI-e x16, one PCI-e x8 (this may run at x4, not sure) , one PCI-e x4, "quiet" copper fan, 90 degree SATA ports, on/off and reset switch on motherboard, diagnostic LEDs, 150A of power for the CPU, Karajan High Definition Audio Module, and some of the best OC'ing seen on an AM2 board. Add all the features of the 590 SLi chipset. It IS the best AM2 motherboard for high-end.

Loads of Reviews!

Ok, I don't know the prices in Canada, so besides the ASUS Crosshair and DFI 590, there is the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe. The advantage of a 590 chipset is that it is more powerful, has better features and will last better in the future. If price is a problem, the 570 chipset that you first picked out will work without problems.

The 4200+ reached 3.0GHz on heatsink/air cooling, here, while the 3800+ only reached 2.7GHz, here.

I'd get the 4200+. Here in the states, you can get a 7600GT with a MIR that would make it cheaper than most 7600GS. If it's not much of a price difference, I'd get the 7600GT.

Did you hear? The 8800GTX was rumored to hit the shelves at $649 and then atacom.com had them listed for $799.95 and $809 for the BFG and PNY cards respectively. Though, I just checked and it's not on the site anymore. Maybe they were just trying to get suckers to pre-buy it.

Anyway, because of these outrageous prices, I'll bet DX10 cards won't be valued price for at least 4-6 months or whenever both ATI and NVidia decide to lauch mainstream cards and not the "beasts" that will be available first.

Looks perfect to me, but I've read somewhere that the 250GB 7200.10's are "nuded" 320GBs, like a failed platter or something. So the 320GB technically has better performance, but it is minimal. Just worth mentioning.

Also OCZ has released sub-$200 2GB DDR2-800 CAS4, should come to stores soon. Might save some cash, I don't know...

Sorry for my comments, the build looks awesome!

I changed my mind about the 700w. If I really need to upgrade in the future Ill buy a 700w and sell the 600w to my buddy. But I really doubt the 600w wont be suffice, it wont be a big deal to upgrade.

Thanks again all.
