I currently have an X1900XT, however it is almost impossible to find an X1900XTX crossfire card for a reasonable price. I was wondering if it is possible to have crossfire with a X1900XT and a X1950XTX.

Thanks

Peter

No, you need one Crossfire Edition card.

I've seen people say that an x1950 Crossfire will work with an x1900XT or XTX. Havent seen it proved however.

An x1950XTX will definately *not* work.

Not sure I'd agree there, any 2 cards of the same GPU family can be made to work with SLI, with or without a bridge connector.

Crossfire has very specific demands as to which cards work with which others, and different Motherboard requirements for different combos.

Of course, in almost all Direct3D applications, x1950XTX and x1950CF beat anything nVidia has on the table right now, except *maybe* QuadSLI.

Thats what counts at the end of the day :)

hehe yay for bragging rights :)

My LCD is a 20.1" 1600x1200 IPS panel, running on a single 7900GT as my sig says.

There are a few games I cant run quite as high as I like, but not many, and thats only because I have recently become addicted to 8xSS FSAA.

I'd agree that for 1280x1024 its not worth it, 1600x1200 and 1680x1050 only if you are willing to put down alot of cash for a small benefit. (and personally I think a single 8800GTX next month will do me for now...) 1920x1200 and above then yeah, I think its justifyable.
