I was just wondering if you found any solution to this problem?
I have a 4001 lmi travelmate and BIG PROBLEM with USB
It has a phoenix 3A10 bios version (btw - is there any newer???) and my computer doesn't recognise my external ASUS DVD_RW. (does recognise other usb devices - the drive if fully fuctional- checked on other computer)

No options on for usb in bios.

Your help would be much apprieciated!!!!

check if there is any newest bios update.
what protocol are your usb ports usb 1.1 or usb 2.0??
your dvd-rw uses usb 2.0.
if this is the problem ,
then check your local shops for a device that can convert usb1.1 to usb2.0

Asus works on usb 2.0. I have such conroller in my laptop - no problem.I tried to find new bis for my motherboard but NO LUCK.

ANy idea where to look fot it????
