BEST PCI-E CARD FOR ~$250:
Radeon X1900 XT 256mb
Codename: R580, 90 nanometer technology
48 PixelShaders, 8 VertexShaders, 16 TextureUnits, 16 RasterOpsProcessors
256-bit external memory bus (512-bit internal ring bus)
625 Mhz core, 725 Mhz DDR (1450 Mhz effective) Memory

The 256mb X1900 XT is a re-released X1900 XT with less memory and a new price that really entrenches it as the best $200 to $300 card you can buy today. Priced as low as $240 at the time this is written, there's nothing that can touch it, including the new Geforce 7950 GT.

Ive been looking today and I cant seem to find one at all. At first I was going to go with the eVEGA 7900GTO, but after seeing the 3d Mark 06 scores for the X1900XT I decided to go with that. Well, the GTO also is pretty much a 7900GTX that didnt make the cut from what Im told, and the ram is very low quality.

But onto the problem at hand, I cant seem to find an XT anywhere. Am I just nubbing it up and looking in the wrong places?

BTW: First post in the forums, seems like alot of people in this community know what they are talking about.

newegg, ZZF, and tigerdirect didn't have them.

According to the THG pricing, they are all overpriced.

Looks lke you're a couple of weeks too late.

7900 GTO FTW.

Also, you probably shouldn't base anything on 3D Mark; Real life results are different.

well the GTO is great, except that it is possibly a MASSIVE mistake. Read Here to see what Im talking about. But, how long untill the DX10 cards come out? Ive been trying to dig up some information on them but no luck so far, where are some good places to look for that sort of information. Same with benchmarking and other stuff like that.

So I guess my question is, I have a 7800GT, should I just sit on that and wait for the new gen cards to come out? I cant even order a 7900GTO anymore because they're on backorder till the beginning of december. 8O

[EDIT] Found one, I think. Just to verify that Im not reading something wrong, is this it?

I asked the same question you did a few days ago. Here is the link to the thread I started: http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=206235&highlight=

By the way, the card you found has been out of stock for about 5 days.
