Hello.

I was thinking of getting an sli mobo with a 7900gs.. and later on chucking a 2nd one if i had the money..

but would be 400w, I think it maybe 430w psu be anough to run at least one card.. what about 2?

I dont think id ever have more then 2 harddrives in this baby.. probably only have one..

um.. maybe 4 ram sticks one day.. but only 2 for now..

a dvd rom drive and a burner..

am i running a risk here?

your thoughts?

Depends which PSU.

A good, high quality like FSP, Enermax, Antec etc. might run SLI fine. One card will run for sure, but I wouldn't try SLIing.

I'm with prozac26 on this one, If I were you I'd chuck a 600w in just to be on safe side.

You wont be running SLi on that, not a chance.

Single card *might* be OK depending on the PSU ampage and quality, and the CPU.

If you are running a Prescott or a Smithfield, then you probably wont have enough power left for the GFX card.

It depends on the PSU like I said.

But people did run SLI and CF on 450W PSU.

It's too close to call... IMHO just get a better 550w+ unit to be on the safe side.

go for a higher watt/amp better quality psu.

IMO you will need a new PSU to run SLi with the 7900GS cards. but since you are only buying one card now, dont get a new psu as well as your current should be enough to run it. get a new psu later when you get the second card as there will be better prices/better deals etc
