Don't have a clue. Not for a long time though I would guess. Imagine getting one of those into a laptop, not to mention the power requirements 8O

Seeing as the desktop 8800GTX won't be out until November, I'd wait until March for the Go 8800GTX, if not later.

Original GFGO 8 series release timeframe was Q1 '07, but that was when they were saying that nV would launch all GF8 (including mid range) would be launched in Sept, so since they've pushed back the midrange and are rushing to get the high end here by Nov, I don't suspect we'll see GO models until Q2 '07 (ie April timeframe).

As for power consumption, yeah anything near the desktop GTS or GTX would likely require a 200Wh battery to get anything more than 20 mins game time out of it, plus probably a 250+ W power brick.

well i just want a card with DX10 in my lappy

Then you don't want a GFGO 8800 you want something that will likely be called the GFGO8600 or GFGO8200/8300.

We'll know more after Xmas IMO, or maybe shortly after the launch of the desktop part, but don't expect anything until the spring IMO.

8 and a half months later and still no sign of 8800 go for laptops anytime soon. ASUS' XG Station was mentioned to be released sometime soon though which will enable users to use your PCI-Express cards and connect them to your laptop via an Express card port. It won't be able to to fit in a 8800 card because it's too long, but should be able to support a PCI-Express 8600 which will kick the hiney out of any top end mobile graphics unit anytime. It's still disappointing that it won't be able to support an 8800 huh?

Have you considered ATI's offerings? Though I'm not sure if the lower end stuff is DX10...

No word on the 8800 because of heat and power issues. If you look it up the go 7950GTX it is the same way. People complain all the time about how hot it runs and how short their battery life is. Dell even underclocked theirs in attempts to avoid the heat issue.

I don't even think the XG Station is still in the works. Asus has mentioned nothing of it since the press release. At that point only the 7900GS worked with it. Right now you can just buy a laptop with an 8600m GT in it and get about the same level of the go 7900GS.

Don't expect to hear anything about the 8800m cards until August at the earliest. If news comes sooner I would be surprised.

Actually there's alot of word on it. First thing first, the GFGO8800 will not be equivalent to it's desktop brethren breaking the recent tradition of parity between desktop an mobile. It will likely fall somewhere between a GF8800GTS and GF8600GT in configuration, this will also likely wind up as the chip that is used for the 256bit midrange everyone has been waiting for as a GF8800GS style offering for the desktop. It's a 65nm part supposedly and so should be much more power efficient than the GF8800 desktop series, but there's been mention of 22W which seem sunrealistic for full working load of anything more powerful than a GF8FGO8600, so the rumours still seem strange.

There's alot of info out there on it, but the main thing is that it won't be here until well into summer.

If you want more info, go check Fudzilla and a few other sources, or even the Beyond3D forums.
