It doesn't really matter what anyone says. I think you want to buy an Xbox 360 and you want us to TELL you to get it. So you won't feel so bad about spending the money. Do or don't, you don't need to ask anyone!
Just look at the games reviewed at gamespot or somesuch for the 360. Most have already been ported to the PC. I mainly buy PC games although I have a PS2. I have a fast dual core CPU and a ole plain geforce 6800. Even playing games at 1024x768 I still don't want a 360 or a PS3. I am happy with my setup until the second gen DX10s cards come out. You know what I have had for over 5 years though?? A dual analog Saitek P880. OMG! Unlike my PS2 controller the buttons all still work just fine.
I will be getting a Wii on launch. Not for the graphics though.... Just for something I can't possibly get on a PC.
