Hello,
I have just moved back from Europe/Hong Kong and I am now back in the
US. Are there any US based providers that can I can hook my XDA II up
to? Since the device has a SIM/IMEI and is GSM/GPRS, this seems like it
should work with T-Mobile US?

Any thoughts or hard facts?

Thanks in advance...

I believe the XDA II is a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900Hz) phone so it should
work in North America. Provided the unit is unlocked, you could try (or
buy) an active SIM card for one of the GSM carriers. Or just head down to
one of the shops and have them drop in one of their SIMs.

I have an unlocked PPC GSM phone and I'm able to SIMs from different US
carriers and Canada too.

Hope that helps.
-simon.

The XDA2 is a triband device and will work in most regions of the US. The
only thing you should check is that your phone is not locked to your current
operator by them. If it is unlocked, the SIM card from any GSM network in
the US like T-Mobile will work on it.

My XDAii is working as we speak (which I am assuming means that it's
unlocked). my problem is that it's services are still going through my
O2 carrier out of Hong Kong ($$$). You are recommending that I get a
SIM and an account through T-Mobile US?

Most of my contacts are on the SIM, so if I get a new SIM I will just
save them to contacts (which will most likely cause duplicates as I
have found that be a flaw).

Thanks for your help and recommendations in advance
