Are you shooting for 1gb or 2gb? 2gb seems it will be tough to find for the price you need to stay at.

If you wont OC, I think you can find 533 sticks at that price. But if you will youll need better quality modules, I just found this that cant be beaten for the price, RAM this quality is usually ~$40 more expensive o_o

nice find :D

that should work with the motherboard though there were compatibility issues with voltages hihger tha the (JEDEC?) standard 1.8v, newegg lists it as being 1.9v-2v, not sure if it is lower during startup or not though. :?

Did gigabyte fix the 'problem' with certain RAM and the ds3/ds4 motherboards?

rofl its out of stock... what a suprise...

JEDEC aproved means that itll have 5-5-5-15 timings and 1.8v on the SPD timings, this are the specs from the factory, not the advertised ones.

good good :D My DS4 works with my RAM though it is generic memory... ewww... I shoudl get my motherboard cpu and psu back tommorrow and it should all work (motherboard fault.... )
LOL

All RAM manufacturers have to be approved by JEDEC if they are to produce RAM, right?
Eg. if a manufacturer was to release DDR-400 ram to the market it must reach JEDEC standards; work @ 2.6v (or 2.8?) and have 3-3-3-9 timings?

I thought so.... :)

Well if you can splurge just a little, my Corsair ram works great. No compatibility problems at all. Runs at 4-4-4-12 at 800mhz. no problems at all. If you don't need that, I still recommend corsairs value line.

yeah i was thinking about getting cruicals 10th anniversary 1gb stick (no dual channel :( ) as I read it will work up to 550mhz (1100 ddr) with relaxed timings and it is only 667mhz @ stock!!

downside is the price: over £100 for 1gb, though all memory prices are on the up and possibly still rising its difficult to justify £100 for 1gb of ram at the moment... :?

Nobody said Corsair wasnt quality. But the magic lies within the chips and you can get those chips for cheaper and with higher binning like is the case of Crucials tenth anniversary modules.
