Hello, my mom bought a comp about a year ago for just over 2k and its outdated and useless. Could I buy a new power suply and graphic card and have a new working computer? my rig is an asrock p4 mobo with an intel p4 prescot 2.93 ghz 1mb cache. 160gb sata hd and 1gb of ram. I would buy 500 watt power and an ati 1900xt. I guess my real question is would the x1900 run nice with such an old mobo and small hd?

Couple things. Why buy an X1900?? is she going to use its full potential?

Just over a year ago?? can't be that bad. but if its AGP then a PCI-E GPU is out of the question.

no lol, the 1900 is for my games but thats just an example, any good quality new card would do. but I have an ati x300 se. and at least 1 pci-e slot with i think 2 pci slots under it. ok the hd is 7200 rpm so that covers that question but i still think my system specs are to low for a nice card, tell me im wrong. :D

nope its some custom crap that mdg put together, that company probably doesn't exist in the states. one day my sister needed a computer for homework and my mom just ran out and bought the first one she saw on sale...i can't c how it was on sale if it was 21 hundred clams. jeez i coulda got a nice e6400 for a few hundred less. I think she got tricked from all the "free" stuff they put in, like the 2 dollar printer/webcam/mp3 player which have all broke since then.
