T_FAULT PWR_EXT error messages X1800XT

Last night i gave my computer a clean out, dusting etc.

When putting everything back in and turning it on, i get two error lights on the card and no response on the screen.

The two error messages are T_Fault and Pwr_ext lights by the PCI-e power connnector.

System specs:
AMD athlon 64 4000+
ASUS A8R-MVP Motherboard
2gb corsair twinX PC3200
Powercolor Radeon X1800XT 512
Xfi Extreme Music sound card
Antec Tru power 2.0 480W

Everything was brand new in January.

Any help would be appreciated and understanding the fault is my main bug bear.
I did a google search and there are only boards posts about the problem rather than a proper ATi solution.

fault pwr sounds like fault power, have you plugged in the external power cable?

Yep, its been in and out, tried both pci-e rails.

These are two different fault lights by the way.

Maybe that offers any help.

I kept on playing with all the cables, in, out, in, out etc and miraculously it worked last night. Seems to be fine now.
