Right now I'm using Scythe Infinity without a fan. And 3 case fans. The Scythe is so big I end up having 2 case fans within 2 inches of it, one blowing on, the other away. Think I need to throw a fan on the Scythe?
You know what's strange is that I am getting about a degree lower than you on stock cooling (42/46). I would guess that it could be the active fan on the stock HS.
I bet you could shave a few degrees off of your temps if you put a fan directly on that HS.
Nice temps.I would consider throwing a fan directly on the heatsink though as it will make for a couple degrees drop in temp and will allow better oc'ing,if you're into it.Goodluck.

My core temp reads 47 idle and 62 under load. My load is using TAT and turning on the "worklaod level 100%".
If I run a game like Oblivion is that the same as having the CPU at full load? I dont' want my system to run so hot for 1-2 hours at a time if I can help it.
My temps with TAT are 1-2 degress lower than Core Temp.
Somewhere in this thread KOne mentioned that "core temp usually runs about ten degrees hot than the cpu temp". Why does everyone say Asus Probe temps are lower than actual and to use TAT or Core Temp for acurate temps?
Because CoreTemp and TAT use the sensor that's actually on the CPU itself, whereas ASUS Probe uses a sensor that is located near the CPU. It's like taking a laser thermometer and measuring the heat from a light bulb. From my chair, it measures 40C. But if I get right on the bulb, it measures around 60C. Does that help?

Maybe the board did not report accurate temp.. and it is running like 60C idle... or 25C.. If it is stable, don't care about it..
