Ok i'm getting a new rig and wondering which memory to put in it, i have:

E6600 CD2, Gigabyte 965P DS3 MOBO and a 7900GTO GC.

I have looked around and i have seen these 3, with the OCZ being the cheapest. I want to get it right so please help !

OCZ Platinum PC6400 2x1Gb 4-5-4-15 £169

or
Geil Ultra PC6400 2x1gb 4-4-4-12 £190

Or finally
Corsair Twin XMS2 PC6400 2x1gb 5-5-5-15 £181

id just pick the OCZ since they are teh cheapest, they should all perform relatively the same. They are all good memory.

But make sure those boot up at 2.0V or less, or you might have trouble on the DS3 if the board you get is still on a old bios.

The Platinum OCZ doesnt seem to be as stable as the Revision 2 ones, they can be a hit and miss when OCing too.
Corsair has CL5 so fak that.
The GeiL are the best choice (sadly the most expensive).
Even tough if youre only aiming at ~415Mhz FSB pick up any of the other two.

stay away from OCZ they seem to not like 965 or vise versa. I would pick Corsair or Geil. Or i just got some A-DATA for my DQ6 and is working fine, while i had some Crucial that would not boot.

The Foxconn because its a great OCer and has more PCI slots than the Abit, even that if you want the bleeding edge...
The Asus has alot of trouble for overclocking with the average Joe.

@mcain591
520Mhz on LN2 on the CPU and Northbridge plus some mods is the top ive seen for the P5W DH.
640Mhz is the world record, done on a P5B Dlx.

thanks for the input. what i like from that 3 motherboard are:

1. abit aw9d-max: nice heatpipe & heatsink on both north & southbridge & vrm, also all solid capacitor.

2. foxconn 975x7ab: excellent digital vrm.

3. asus p5w dh deluxe: nice bundled features.

if they are all mixed together into one motherboard would be the number one kickass product, eh?

Heatpipes are more of a gimmick than useful, and the "bundled features" just skyrocket the pricet for something youll rarely use. But the Digital VRM ensures excellent vdroop!
