Hi, I'm considering buying a DVI KVM switch, but I don't know if the setup I'm thinking about would work. There are a couple issues that I forsee.
1. My notebook, a Dell D620, only has VGA out. I have a DVI to VGA converter that came with my video card for my desktop, which would theoretically go on the input of the KVM. This would allow everything to hook up because the ends of a DVI cable are the same on both ends. Would this work the way I'm thinking it would, or do I need to track down a converter.
2. My notebook has no PS2 ports, and I want to use my keyboard and mouse, so that means a USB to ps2 converter. How well will all this stuff work when I boot into linux?
i could use a USB(my ps2 one does odd stuff to my P5W DH.....random mouse actions....no good in fps to be looking at the ground all the sudden) KVM....one thats will pass through logitech hotkeys.....most seem to kill them
any help....for not i have a switch attached to a usb backplane(i use the multi inputs on the screen for the v(ideo) part...so i got a KM )....call it the poor mans KVM
