Hello THGF i have noticed that two companys MSI and EVGA have just released the 7900GTO both their cards use the GTX cooling systemand run at

650Mhz Core and 660mhz memory (1320mhz effective)

and both have

24Pipes,GDDR3 Memory
and the G71 Core.

I have read posts of another forums about these cards is it said that

"Its exactly the same as a 7900GTX but with lower clock memory"

Is that true if so; iam getting one !

I can only get ahold of MSI's 7900GTO

So anyone who has heard anything good/bad about these cards people post!

Also if there is anyone on this forum that has a EVGA/MSI 7900GTO tell me abit about them !

Thankyou

I own 2 Evga 7900GTO's in SLI. They preform great with 2 in SLI i get 9394 in 3DMark06 with NO OC'ing of any kind. As you have stated they are basically identical to the GTX. From what i can tell they are GTX cards with slower clocked memory. Now i have read that the GTO and GTX have different memory on them. I am not all sure how truthful this is because i have not had the time to remove my heatsinks on either of them to look and check up on it. If you simply search google you can find lots of sites that have benchmarked them with the GTX and they run neck and neck. If you have good cooling in your system you could OC them match the GTX speeds. Other then all this i can say they are pretty much the GTX. My friend currently has 2-BFG 7900GTX OC in SLI and our cards look identical to each other board and setup wise. Now they do preform some what different due to the BFG cards coming OC'ed from the factory and mine still being GTO clocked. But with all this i can say these are great cards i love mine and hope to have them for some time.

I persoanlly have 2 GTO's SLIed.. and they run really nice and really cool.. 3dMark06 (ran test about 10 times) Average 9742 not to shabby :) top 5% of the submitted scores..

Anyways I have not found any top end game yet that will slow these cards down. everything from BF2142-Fear-Madden07-WOW-Doom3.. all these games run at max graphic settings with 60-140FPS with ease..

Nice, but i think CRYSIS will slow it down lol !

I am planning to get a Single slot PCI-E Motherboard and only run one of these cards.

Thx for the post.

I've been looking at this card also and I am stumped...I need some opinions

Should I get the 7900 GTO or the 7950 GT KO Superclocked

I want to run all my games in 1650x1050 on pretty high settings

So...Which is better- I've been looking at the TG Charts, and both have their trade offs
