My new rig is going to be too big for a mid-tower so I need a full tower.
I have never owned a full tower so I am looking for help here.
I need room for cooling, cable management and a few heatsinks:
ThermalRight Ultra 120
Thermalright HR-03
The Ultra is big, mounted with a 120mm fan.
The HR-03 is mounted with a 92mm fan.
Plan on putting some nice fans in the case as well.
Have two hard drives, one DVD burner, one floppy.
I appreciate the help.
I have the Silverstone TJ09 (black) and LOVE IT. I am running Core 2 Duo 6700 and dual 7900GTX cards and the thing runs very, very cool...all things considered. Its loud given the number of fans..but its airflow is fantastic. I just posted a note about my being stumped about how to route the SATA cables...but other than that - its great.
The NZXT Zero is a $149.99 Full tower. It already has 7 120mm fans and one 80mm fan included. All reviews i've read have been very favorable and say the fans are quiet as well. I am very seriously considering this case for my next build as well.
No blingy side windows and all but very neat, clean-looking case imo. Worth a look I think G'luck.
About the Zero, I'm not sure how much clearance there is in it, need to double check that fact... after you install the mobo and have the 120mm fans, will there be enough room for such a large tower cooler?
There probably is, but always check for the total width of the case. rememeber, mobo standoff's are a couple of mm, the case itself is a couple mm thick, mobo adds a couple more mm, and then ther 120mm fans add some more... they all add up...
I second Thermaltake cases. They're great. I know a lot of people love Antec and they make some big sexi cases too. I'd also look into a big HTPC case if I were you, as LCD T.V.'s and LCD monitors are merging.
Sound advice of course and I agree the OP should take these considerations into account. The Zero is 8.3" wide according to NZXT's site. I couldn't find a review where they specifically used a "huge" cooling solution.
It does appear that something like a zalman 9500 or such should fit. But thats a guess and not hard fact. Its a nice case tho so if OP is interested do a little more research etc.
Have you considered the Ultra Aluminus? I agree it's not the best case out there, but it can be had for less than $100. It's all aluminum except the faceplate, which makes it incredibly light... and it's still a very strong case. It's got plenty of room... shouldn't be much of a problem setting up your cooling inside. And did i mention the BIG-A$$ side window?
Beware that it doesn't ship with any fans, so you can go buy whatever brand u want.
Unless you really want to show off you hardware, I'd recommend getting a case without a window. Spend more on internal components if it's a budget thing. Of course, this contradicts a bit with what I've said before in other posts...buy the biggest, best case you can find and then show it off proudly for as long as you need to. You see it every day...make sure it's sexy and to your liking.

I agree with what you say, but for under $100, it's hard not to go with an Aluminus if you already have a PSU. It's got excellent looks, with the aluminum polished off to an almost flawless gloss (the cases reflect just about anything - even if the case is black). The face plate is plastic and a bit flimsy, but unless you do a lot of drive-swapping, that really shouldn't be a problem. And like I said, size is not going to be a big problem with this case - it'll hold an 8800GTX with ease, and the sideways-mounted 3.5inch drivebays won't interfere with card installation.
Of course, if you want the best, by all means go with an Antec or ThermalTake.
