I'm always reading that this is what you should aim for for optimal performance.... but the reasons for this are never explained. So say I'm going for an actual FSB of 333MHz. Does this mean that DDR667 would be best for my system? Surely DDR800 would make it run faster....? Thanks for any help

You should aim for 1:1 but usually your RAM wont keep up with the over clock of the FSB on your CPU. So most of us have to compromise or buy really expensive RAM.

getting 800mhz ram lets you increase the FSB to 400+ but if you are only aiming for an FSB of 333 then you wont need 800 and youll be best sticking to 667.
