Hi there

I have pricing and it aint nice.

GTS is around current GX2 pricing from OcUK.
GTX is a lot more expensive then current GX2 pricing, about £150 more.

However there is still time for NVIDIA to change pricing prior to launch so things could get cheaper or more expensive. I doubt this will happen as we have been given our buy prices now.

Obviously with product been so tight then expect prices to be high anyway due to simple supply and demand. Anyone who looks surprisingly cheap will no doubt be because they have not been allocated any stock and if you have no stock anybody can advertise a price. OcUK always gets the lion share because we sell the most and we tend to follow the rules most of the time.

Am I right in thinking the 8800 is already 2 gpu's per card, so with 2 cards you get quad sli? Or are they single gpu per card?

Everything I've read says the original 8800 GTX will be a single GPU card (it has 768 MB of memory... how could you split that up between two GPUs?) and that a future Nvidia card will incorporate a dual GPU solution... don't have the link handy, but I'd bet the farm on this one.

One core is allocated 512mb ram, the other 256. It also explains the 384bit memory bus, 256 bits for the 512mb gddr3, and 128 bits for the 256mb gddr3(which would be half the number of physical chips on board).

lol, well... if it is in fact 2 seperate GPUs, that would mean that it might be then possible to diversivy the card choices in a DIY SLI setup more (because the seperate cards physical configurations are definetly not close to being identical then)...

but, if thats not the case, then it probably is just 1 GPU i would believe.

That does't sound like it would be 2 GPUs then, more like they've split single core functionality over two busses. Anyone know for sure if the 8800 appears as 2 GPUs in sli, like the 7950 does?

No mention of 2 GPUs in all of this... at the very least, I was saying it wouldn't be a single card SLI solution like that 7950GX2.

These specs don't seem right...

If it's got 2 GPUs surely that means it must be possible to user the smaller for physics calculations? Maybe that is what nVidia is aiming at!
