Last I heard ATI will come out with DX10 cards 2 or 3 months after nVidia.

I would assume they will be CF ready.

Will they be top-end cards, like $300 or so? Because I am thinking of going with 2GB of Ram instead of a X850XT. I will go with a lower card with Hypermemory or something. Because I really dont want to waste that money.

They're not coming out with a "DX10" card, they're waiting for DX11.

Anyway, they should be here early '07.

Top end cards will be similar to today's prices, about $400 or so.

There not? Why? D11 is far from now! I might just have to go with the 850XT to suit me 12-18 months.

Prozac26 is just kidding. DX10 cards will be pretty expensive, I will guess they are going to be $500+ for some time. nVidia stated that sometime in Spring 2007 they will release mainstream DX10 cards.

If you really want a DX10 card you better start saving now.

Does anyone know how many shader units will be on each pipeline? are they still following the format of the X1900 which had 48 shaders on 16 pipelines making it 3 shaders per pipeline or will it be 1 to 1, like the x1800 series was?

Its blantantly obvious that i am no genius when it comes to graphics cards, and if i am absolutely wrong with what i say, i am sure someone out there will correct me, but if the R600 has 64 pipelines with one shader per pipeline then = 64 unified shaders, however if they are able to put more than one shader on the pipelines like on the x1900, you are looking at a possible 192 unified shader units......!! Put into that perspective it sounds better than the 8800GTX.... but then again who knows when the R600 is out.... oh and before someone calls me an ATI fanboy.... my current card is an nvidia 6800 GT (AGP)... i have never owned an ATI card in my life.....

More like $550-600 I expect. Thats what nVidia will be charging for the GTX 8800.

Dude, you need to do some research before coming in here going blib blab blob with your keyboard and wobbly brain. Look up "Hypermemory" and read up on it.

I mean, if you are interested in a DX10 card (or even a DX9 card) then you could NOT be interested in a hypermemory card. Get it? Well, you would if you knew what hypermemory is.
