Is solid caps so important?

Whats the difference between solid caps and regular capacitor ?

How is it important?

longer lifetime, easier to manufacture to a higher standard. only problem i know of is size and heat generation. i may be wrong tho.

Solid Capacitors last up to 5 times more than eletrolic ones. But Gigabyte is telling their customers that their S3 mobos (not one solid capacitor) lasts up to 5 years. Remmber that OCing degrades everything.
