need help my keyboard is acting up when i type in any program the letters is sometimes coming up as numbers

Are you using a laptop? If so, beware that with many older ones that didn't have numberpads (15.4" and under), there was a "numberpad" that is activated by pushing the Number Lock key. The "numberpad" actually consists of regular keys, toward the right of the keyboard I think. Therefore, try pushing the Number Lock key and then typing something.
