Hi Guys, this is my first post on this forum, so please excuse if there are mistakes
I'm looking to build a new AMD Dual Core AM2 PC with Windows XP Professional (SP2). I went through several forums but couldn't find the information I needed, so decided to post my own question
RAID 0 provides you the speed (no redundancy) and RAID 1 provides you redundancy (but slow). RAID 0+1 gives you both, but all 4 Hard Drives (I would think) have to be the same size
So I thought I'd ask if It's possible to have SATA RAID 0 and 1 setup separately on the same PC. I would think the Motherboard would have to have 2 SATA RAID controllers (One on-board and one PCI Express, or both on-board)
The first controller would have 2 SATA Hard Drives (smaller capacity) linked to it and have RAID 0 on it. This setup will be used to install the Operating System and Applications (make things faster)
The second controller would have 2 SATA Hard Drives (bigger capacity) linked to it and have RAID 1 on it. This setup will be used to hold music, photos etc (Redundancy)
Appreciate everybody's comments ideas in advance
