In everest in the Motherboard -> memory -> SPD menu it says:
Module size 512MB (1 rank , 4 banks)

What does 1 rank mean?

Why do you want to know? I find useless facts in life time wasting especially for the person explaining it.

I have 2x512 Sycron DDR2/800 modules.

Here is what i get in everest in the SPD section

Serial Number AD223600h (3547821)
Module Size 512 MB (1 rank, 4 banks)
Module Type Unbuffered DIMM
Memory Type DDR2 SDRAM
Memory Speed DDR2-800 (400 MHz)
Module Width 64 bit
Module Voltage SSTL 1.8
Error Detection Method None
Refresh Rate Reduced (7.8 us), Self-Refresh

Memory Timings
@ 400 MHz 5-5-5-18 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 23-42-3-6-3 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR)
@ 266 MHz 4-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 16-28-2-4-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR)
@ 200 MHz 3-3-3-9 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 12-21-2-3-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR)

How can rank be the same thing as bank if it says only 1 rank? Or do you mean that 1 rank = 4 banks?

Another thing, can a memory module have more then 4 banks (8 or 16) or in every memory architecture there are only two lines that selects the banks and can't be more[/list]. Thanks.

You may want to contact Everest for a clarification of their terms there. It would appear that in this case you have a SS DIMM made up of 128Mb by8 ICs if I am interpreting the info correctly. I can't find Sycron on the internet so I don't know for sure.

I assume you are talking about unbuffered non ECC?
