the 1950pro should last a couple years depending on what kind of games you want to play, it'll have a longer lifespan then the 1900gt or 7900gt. In almost every bench of the pro ive seen it's won out over the 7900gt. take a look at the benchmarks in this article there a couple pages back. if you want to save some money get the asus version instead. the only thing it doesnt have is vivo support like the ati or sapphire ones.

asus 1950pro $189.99*

*EDIT looks like newegg changed the price on the asus 1950pro from 164.99 to 189.99 but thats still better than $200

um your talking about a laptop right? well if it is the case then none. You can not upgrade laptops. (well maybe cpu, ram & Hd) but nothing else.

what? what are you talking about? when would you use a 500W PSU and a full sized graphics card in a laptop?

thats still just a 7900gt a 1950pro will perform better. For the games you mentioned the 1950pro will do pretty good, obviously not as good as a 1950xtx but those are $450 right now.

ok desktop thats better (no offense but there r some ppl on this forum that think they can put desktop components into laptops..) back to the question at hand, id get the x1950pro its better than 7900gt. and price wise, x1950pro can be cheaper

I recommend that you not spend a lot of money on the video card but then cheap out on the PSU. PSU to support this level of system should be a REAL 500W PSu closer to $75-100.

quick question, are 3rd party power supplies compatible with Acer computers? Some companies have proprietary components (cough cough DELL) and the last time i tried something like this the 20 pin atx connector refused to fit into the board.

FEAR is fun (i like it) and with soft shadows enabled its a workout. It also has its own benchmarking tool.

Oblivion is the king of bringing high end computers to their knees. you can try that. There are others too.
