I have the need for speed. Some parts are here for my new system and some I'm just about to order. Id love to hear what you would do with the parts and what I should get.

I have so far

Vapochill LS cooler
Lian Lee case that goes with it
2- EVGA 7950 1 gig sli cards
OCZ 700w PSU

I need

CPU
Motherboard
ram
hard drives

I plan on the e6600 with the new asus 680i motherboard. 2 gigs of corsair twinx ram and 2 Raptor 150 gig drives in Raid 0. None of these parts have been ordered. In fact Im not even sure if the motherboard is in existance yet. It is my intention to overclock this set up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated so I dont blow it after shelling out for all this stuff.

thanks

Have you read wusy's Core 2 overclocking guide? It'll give you a better idea of what gear to kit yourself out with before taking the plunge with the credit card.

CPU would be completely up to the speed you want to OC.
Super Talent 800 with 4-4-3-8 timings is the best OCer at the cheapest price.
Wait for RD600 too. 4 days away...
HDD doesnt have to to with OCing.

How good will the rd600 be compared to the asus p5nsli deluxe 680i
The C55 board by Asus is called the Striker Extreme, refer to the motherboard section for much more details.
As for comparing them, the reference board for RD600 overclocked only 10Mhz farther than the 680i one. So it comes down to DFI LP (directed by Oscar Wu) and Asus. It shall be an interesting battle.
Take in count that undoubtfully the Asus will be more expensive for all that gimmick sh!t they filled it with.
