Hi
I have over two thousand jpgs of newspaper clippings dating back to
the 1940s that I have scanned in for my Cricket club. I would like to
run character recognition that create a txt file for each jpg that
exists. Each file is named according to the year, for example
4546N001.jpg, and after OCR has run I would like a file 4546N001.txt
to be created. All of this can be done manually using an OCR
application but I am wondering if this could be done in bulk without
user intervention. Maybe via a script. I am running out of my time to
complete the project and doing each file individually is taking up too
much time.
The quality of the read is not a concern. The txt file is only used
for a search index and is never viewed. Has anyone ever tried this and
could they recommend a software package.
