Im going to get the gigabyte DS3 in a few days now and I have been looking at what ram to get for my new rig. Ive been looking around and am thinking between two options. Either:

OCZ 1GB DDR2 P6400 CAS4 (2 x 512mb) Platinum XTC Edition Speed : 800MHz Timings : 4-5-4-15 £99.

or

Corsair Memory TWIN2X1024A - 6400 XMS2-6400 2x512MB 240DIMM CAS5 800MHz 5-5-5-15 £95

First of all I want to make sure that it works with my motherboard which I know has some issues with ceratin ram models.
Secondly I plan on overclocking my E6300 so which one is better for overclocking?
And finally if anyone has a better suggestion then I am very willing to change my mind ( just dont make it too expensive perhaps below £120 or $150) :D

Definetly the SuperTalent, its in a complete different class regarding to Micron D9 chips.
Amazing that you found them even cheaper than Corsair CL5, here theyre more expensive than Corsair CL4.

In all fairness to you, Assman and Corsair, we are going to lay down all the cards in the table:
Corsair 800CL5 -> 450Mhz CL5 = £95
SuperTalent 800CL4 -> 480Mhz 4-4-3-8 -> 550Mhz 4-4-3-8 @2.3v = £93

Can you still defend (or justify the purchase) the Corsair modules?

I've got some Super Talent PC2-6400 modules, they're top parts, but Super Talent changed the specs after I got these.

Mine go to around 1120 data rate. I still find it hard to believe that Corsair's PC2-6400 has lower overclock stability than it's 5400C4. Which just makes me want to impress upon people the value of the 5400C4!

True, they changed the timings a bit and the heatspreaders. But the part number is still the same and theyre behaving (according to several reports ive seen) exactly the same as the ones you reviewed, meaning theyre using the same chips.
This modules have platinum heatspreaders and 4-4-3-8 timings tough, but as long as its this line of SuperTalent I dont doubt their potential.

PS. Corsair 675CL4 line is actually good, ive seen it hit 500MhzCL5 and they arent much expensive over the rest of the market.

Corsair is one of the best brands of memories and one of the most trusted. Is not my problem that you had bad experiences with them because most people use them and recommend it ;)

Oh yeah by the way, looks like you are a bad overclocker saying that "luckily" you get 20mhz of overclock... I really dont think so ;)

And so the fanboys have spoken...
I would never put me trhu the disgrace of buying Corsair by the way, unless they would start making top $/performance products.
