hey, i just built my first PC and since i've been OCing thought its probably worth investing in an aftermarket cooler.

trouble is i dont want to have to remove my motherboard etc to fit it. also dont fancy having a chunky cooler sticking off my mobo for space reasons.

so here is my dilema: a cooler that is going to be better and quieter than stock (man this AMD thing whines!), that fits AM2 (there aren't that many TBH) and that i wont have to dismantle my beloved to fit.

discuss.

hmmm i def want to do it for acoustic reasons more than anything

If 22dBs is quiet enough you can get a Cooler Master Hyper TX, its just as good as a Ultra-120 at stock speeds.
But for OCing the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro would be the best choice.
These are the two best performers for ~92mm height HSFs.
