Ok here what I want to do and you guys tell me if its possible..

Have 2 7900GTO's in SLI..

Can I have on 1 screen a game like BF2142 or such.. and on the other screen have regular apps like Winamp and Browsers open and what not..

If I have to turn off SLI to do this I will.. only takes a second :)

I have looked at things like Nview but as far as I understand it actually splits your Screens into 2.. meaning half your "working area" is on 1 and other half on the next..

What I wanna do is run 2 diffrent screens with 2 completally diffrent and seperate views so to speak..

Go to nview desktop menu options, Make sure individual setting is checked make sure you are using muilt display, not clone, also in these options you can make what apps to open on what screen and custom a desktop and save the desktop for what display.

Almost forgot, make sure you snap edges to 100 pixels this prevents some problems with the screen edges getting out of wack also unlock the taskbar you can slide it to the screen you want to use while playing a game and the other using the net. Great feature is throw option with this you can give a window a little push with the mouse and watch it go but this leads with off screen windows, half and half ,if its not tossed right.

Ok well the next question I have is.. how do you switch controls between the 2 screens.. I like that setup you had going... but how would I use the mouse on both screens without screwing up a game or something?? sounds stupid I know but .. just gets me thinking.. im at work so I cant try this yet.. will when I get home :)

with individual setting this allow each application and desktop to use the same hardware setting for each desktop, of course this has it limits but for me I can play bf and use the other screen, why this Is I don't know but I assume because individual setting allows the control of what screen and the pointer would be seperate for each monitor or desktop. bad gramer sry bout that. anther thing is in desktop global options make sure you check the use different resoultions for each desk top

Well guess what im saying is.. would you hit a key on the KB to switch the screen you work on?? or is there some other way..???

yes there is a macron setting or hot key actually the nview options has lots to configure but once it is for each desktop it does work awsome

GPU1 [ 1 ] [ 2 ]

GPU2 [ 3 ] [ 4 ]

I cannot answer the SLI question I guess you will have to try and see if it works I'm assuming this would work with sli surely gpu 1 would be the best place to start, key command are in the nview options or desktop manager like the pic I gave, there you can assign key commands, to switch desktops you can slide your mouse across the screen to get to the other monitor and its desktop icons and when playing games use hotkeys and othergames just sliding the mouse accross the screen outer area this bring the pointer to the other screen.
