The laptop is cheaper and the desktop is for $1400 at Costco and has a nice 24 inch screen. Which is better overall? Atm i have a alienware Auruora 7500, specs are

AMD X2 5600
Foxconn 590 SLI mobo
2gb 800mhz ram
250gb 7,200 rpm
19 inch monitor
geforce 8800 gt

laptop is very nice but unless you don't mind spending hours deleting bloat ware from it i would just go with a diffrent brand. save a little more and get the m17 extreme gaming notebook from alienware. if you go crossfire and a little more ram theres no turning back it's about 2 grand but hey.

also acer makes a good clean fast laptop.

though unless you're traveling a lot. a desktop will give you a lot more bang for your buck.
