I don't think that PSU has a PCI-E connector so you'll be hard pushed to run an X1950Pro on it.

(Based on the info http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=381926&source=Froogle)

Looked on coolermaster website and it does come with PCI-E connector,
sorry :/

Only has 14A on one 12v rail and 15A on the other rail though.

rig is pretty sweet for a lady gamer...
photoshop doesn't need a GPU like that.
i would also say go for a bigger psu.
also, hdd for photoshop, would suggest getting something fast, not old used ide. something like sata2.. or the rap.

Yeah, I actually thought about it and will just get a new harddrive for her. Not that big of a deal its about 60 bucks.

Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600JS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

Also dropped the ram down to 1 gig instead of 2....there is 4 slots so she could add 2 more 512 sticks in later.

The graphics card is because she does play games. She likes Morrowind and Oblivion. I am sure she will play other games too.

I need advise on a PSU though, because Im not to sure which of those I should go for....

Thanks,
Rob

Does she make a living with Photoshop? If so, that system is a waste. Photoshop pays for my living and I would not want to run that setup. I have two systems, one for gaming and one for PS. The following is my PS setup

Asus P4RD1-MX
Northwood P4 3.4
Asus Geforce 6600 512Mb PCI-E
2 500Gb SATA WD Harddisks
2 Gb Patriot 2-3-2-5 DDR-400 Memory
Gigabyte iRam w/ 4Gb Memory (swap partition)

The following is my gaming setup
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Core 2 Duo E6700
2 Gb Patriot DDR2-800
1 400Gb SATA WD Harddisk
ATI X1900GT w/256Mb

For Photoshop, the P4 kills the Core 2 Duo. For most everything else, the Core 2 Duo wins. The problem with PS CS2 is that very little of the code is truly multithreaded. PS loves Video Memory, but doesn't really care about the GPU. Most 3rd party plugins are not multithreaded (Noise Ninja, Neat Image, and Bibble Pro are a few exceptions). Some of the Adobe built in plugins are MT and some routines (rotate, etc) also. This is where the hyper threading P4 works out great. I went with the Socket 478 Northwood 3.4 due to the lower temps and cheap cost. Another mobo to check out is the ASRock P4Twins. You can find both in the US if you really look. The P4 is only $112 right now. You can get the 3.8 Socket 774 chips, but the cost more and generate more heat. The iRam makes PS very fast if it is the primary swap.

Is the user does not get paid to jockey PS, who cares on the rig. If they do, this is going to be a counter intuitive system.

OK ok...you guys have tread-jacked this long enough.....Does anyone have any examples of PSU i could get that wouldnt casue any problems?

I also reduced the ram to 1 gig of:

CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X1024-5400C4 - Retail

She doesnt do PS for a career, she is going to college and this was kinda her graduation present. She does like to play a few games and stuff, but she just doesnt want to have to worry about her computer not handling programs in the near-future.
Thanks,
RoB

A budget of about $100 is a great starting place for a psu. I personally own a Thermaltake Toughpower 700 Watt. I wanted the modular. But I was also told to look at OCZ Gamer Xstream and Antec Neo HE. Both also very good psu's. The Antec Neo HE 500 Should handle that system and its $100 on newegg.com

Up the RAM to 2 gigs again, even if it is value select, the difference is quite astounding especially when running Vista. So as you were saying she doesn't want to worry about running applications in the future then getting her 2GB of RAM is a sort of no-brainer.
