So i bought the Intel 975XBX but my CPU FAN doesnt fit on the mobo. Its a 630 fan i got with the processer, so obviously i need suggestion on a fan that will fit the XBX, and yea, provide good cooling while not being expensive.

i do plan on OCing my 630 when i finally can so a fan geared toward that would be nice.

What kind of fan is it? Who made it? Why doesn't it fit?

I'm just curious. If you want a decent HSF for the 775 socket, that isn't too expensive, try Artic Cooling: Newegg link.

I just don't understand why your other HSF won't fit. If it is the stock cooler and it's setup for socket 775, it should fit and work fine.

Okay.

Just remember that some computer makers like Gateway, Dell, and HP, use their own proprietary motherboards, which might not work well with 3rd party HSF.

I never tried to change the HSF of any "branded" system, but I do remember an old HP computer that I gave to my parents, and the HSF was very different than any that I had ever seen before.

Good luck.
