You have to remember that a US pint = 16oz and a UK pint = 20oz

so £50 would buy you 25 of our pints which is about 37 of your pints, and our alcohol percentage is higher so you get more for your $100 here than you do there :)

When I have customers tell me I'm wasted there, folks in second line asking me what the hell someone that uses linux and nows how to read tracelogs is doing there and a manager who appologises to me for asking me to do mundane things... I do wonder why I bother.

I just need to get of my lazy arse and find my place in this world. I used to play at a more serious level.. confidence got kicked out of me and its taken a while to find it again.

Save your fifty quid and instead buy a tranquilizer gun and a couple of those darts they put into rhinos.

Won't matter how the economics of him coming to you or you going to him stack up then. :kaola: :D

Again, you prove my point. That $100 US here or in the UK will buy a lot of beer. The original argument was that $100 was not a lot of drinking for 2 people in a single night.

Blah :)

Ah, my dear. Go shag the ears of some local lad down at the boozer. Big strong Welsh lad. Get it out of your system.

Mike's as mad as a cut snake anyway. ;) :)

$100!

If two blokes can't get pissed on $100 then they need to get their arses out of the over-priced "trendy" bar that they're in and duck down to a real watering hole where the beer is cold and the publican doesn't pull your pants down over the price.

$10 for a Smirnoff Black just so that I can stand around in a proverbial sausage fest with a bunch of ego-driven jackasses staring at the odd bit of narcissistic female ass that floats by; all the while some hack of a DJ is spinning the latest "lounge" tunes so that all the rich pill heads can drift along as they talk about their latest woes when it comes to driving Mommy's Merc or Daddy's Beamer.

lol

I'd never resent a person's wealth. Never. But I can't abide toffee-nosed culture. Nothing wrong with elegance and sophistication, but I cannot stand the falsehood that simply comes with an ornamental existence -- as is the case for so many early 20-somethings these days. [/lol rant]

A fiver is all a real man needs to get pissed. I stroll into the boozer, buy a pint, play pool for the change and go home counting my profit for the night. Riser could probably do the same playing 'hide and seek' for money.

I really dug those, Jef.

I love that lead guy. "$11.50 for a hamburger; $20 cover charge."

lol -- that was great. :)

That's right on too.

I just thought of that classic movie, Falling Down, with Michael Douglas. That movie, in many ways, was a tremendous piece of social commentary, despite the lead character being crazed.

Right. I remember the movie, but not much about it. I've yet to sit through the whole thing, but I want to. Wifey won't, so it makes it a little harder.

Such a good movie.

I once dropped $130 to get into a club in Vegas. I wanted to get a table but my friend was too cheap to split the required $600 for a table.

I did it once and I can say I did it. I will never do it again.
