I believe I read a rumor of ASUS and Gigabyte merging. Has anyone heard or read of something of more substance lately concerning the union of these two motherboard titans?
Yes, it is true. The two companies have already merged (to be more "friendly" it would be called a Joint venture). Asus (or Asustek) will have/has 49% and Gigabyte will have/has 51%. I still find those %'s strange because you would think Asus would have more right?
The merger will then be called the "Gigabyte union" and it will be finalized January 07'
Thanks for the help. I agree with you on the division of ownership. I would have thought that Asus was a larger company, known for it's stable motherboards and cutting edge motherboards, and would be offering a more to the union.
