When is the time to change the cartridge ?

Hi guys,

I have Canon LaserBase MF5770 B/W.
I've been reading the manual and googling to find some clues about when is the time to change the cartridge ? Does this multifunction will tell me or it will just not print anymore when the cartridge is out ?
Sorry if this questions been asked so many times. I'm new on laser multifunctions.

Either when your print quality starts degrading and you notice it, or when it tells you its out of ink...

It's always good to have a spare toner cartridge on hand just in case...

That way you won't be fcvked when you really do need it.
