Strange Epson 4180 Problem

Hi

The problem I'm having is that the area actually scanned does
not exactly correspond with the marquee I draw on the preview.

I'm trying to scan photographs and include a narrow border around
the image - but when I carefully set the marquee on the zoomed
preview window and do a scan, the area actually scanned is
offset to the left by about 1.5 mm. Off course I can correct
for this by offsetting the marquee a little to the right, but
it is an irritating fault.

Can anyone please suggest why this is happening - or, even better,
suggest how to correct it.
