Hi, im new to these forums and was wondering.

I have a E6600 core 2 duo OC to 2.7 from the stock 2.4, it runs with a freezer 7 pro cooler and artic silver thermal paste.

The temps with speedfan are 45 idle and 50-52 with load. (normaly load is about 49)

and with the Intel thermal tool and coretemp its about 40 idle 47 with load.

just wondering if these temps are ok really, my pc case isnt that hot and everyone ive spoke to says there fine but i just want to doubel check really.

Thanks, Matthew.

Anywhere below 60C under load in Core Temp/TAT is perfectly fine. You are not pushing the limits of your chip. :) Most surpass 3.0GHz without even changing the core voltage.

Actually, under stock voltage, a temp as high as 70C is fine over extended periods of time. However, when you are breaching 1.5V, do make sure the temp stays under 60C, or the combination of voltage and temperature can degrade the chip.
