Hello,

I am currently running a network with router that connected to a computer which is using a modem to connected to the internet. I was reading the Cabel/DSL router. I am planning to upgrade to Cable or DSL. How does the Cable/DSL Router work. How am I going to connect it to the network. Right now, in order for me to connect to the internet, the main computer have to connect to the internet first. WIth Cable/DSL, does the main computer still need to power on. And How do I connect the Router to the Cable/DSL router. The router that I have right now do have a connection to the WAN. Do I still need a Cable/DSL router. OR I could just connect a Cable or DSL modem to the WAN connection. Please help.

if I am understanding you right, your english is rough but thats ok, you are using ics to get the internet to the other computers, right?
If you already have a router, and it sounds like you do, all you need to do is run one cable from the modem to the wan connection on the router, then run one cable from the router to each computer on the network.
you may need to disable or uninstall the ics on the computers (not sure on this).
make sure the router is dhcp enabled and each computer is set to auto detect ip address.
hope this helps
