A widely recognized computer builder other than Dell

I know a decent bit about computers (in terms of hardware), but have no knowledge of how to build one from scratch. Over the past 6 years I have ordered custom made computers from Dell, where they allow you to custom it according to your needs (mostly mid-high end gaming, around $2000 a system). However, I feel that dell's customer service and quality of products have slipped quite a bit over the years, and am now looking to find another well-known and reputable manufacturer (warranty and service is important to me) to build my new PC for me. Any recommendations?

all of the major manufacturers now offer customization on their websites. it is just a matter of how off mainstream you want it to be and how much you want to pay...
