p5w dh shutdown issues

When I click start/shutdown/restart my system is very, very slow to shut down and when it eventually gets to the screen that says "windows is shutting down" it hangs there. I have to press the reset button to reboot my machine.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Could it be a registry issue?

Did you burn in your new computer?
I had these issues before I burnt in my new computer.

I've had my system for about 3-4 weeks and have not really let it run all that much (as per the AS5 instructions about turning it on and off for about 200 hours, then leaving it on to allow the AS5 to cure). I guess I should let it run continuously for a few days? Right now I have it going into standby after 2 hours.

Yes, if you leave it on continously for 24 hours, that should do the trick.
